Admiral Recruitment invests in senior team to support strategic growth

City-based Admiral Recruitment has made three senior appointments to support the company’s on-going strategic growth plans. Robin Hancox has joined as managing director, Chris Harington as operations director and Shaune Hulse as finance director.

Robin Hancox’s appointment as MD sees him come full circle as his first role in recruitment was with Admiral Recruitment in 1995 when he moved from the hospitality sector to become a trainee consultant.

24 years on, Robin is an experienced recruitment professional who has held senior roles with Randstad, Blue Arrow and latterly as head of branch network with Stafforce.

He said: “As I have watched Admiral Recruitment grow, I have been impressed by the company’s reputation for great customer service. I feel massive allegiance to Paula who has carved out an impressive specialised niche within the hospitality, pubs, bars & restaurants, foodservice and business services sectors. This is a great opportunity for me to work closely with Paula and her team to build on what has gone before.”

Paula Rogers, CEO and founder of Admiral Recruitment, said: “Having gained such growth and success in his own career, Robin will make an inspiring leader to support our values, our quality standards and our reputation further.

“Robin understands our culture, our strong focus on developing candidates and our incredible success in developing grass root entry apprentices and graduates. He knows first-hand the importance we place on relationships with our clients, candidates and staff so we warmly welcome him back into the Admiral family.”

Admiral Recruitment’s second senior appointment is Chris Harrington who has joined the company as operations director.

A seasoned recruitment professional, Chris has held many senior roles over the past 13 years with Reed Specialist Recruitment including his latest role as head of business – Reed procurement & supply chain for the past two years.

Chris now oversees the day-to-day operations of Admiral Recruitment’s permanent division, leading a team of 20 recruitment professionals who manage multiple client relationships across the business.

He said: “After 20 years in recruitment, I want to be inspired. Admiral’s history and credibility in the marketplace is huge. Well-regarded and respected, it’s an exciting business with unrivalled clients, candidates and staff and tremendous opportunity for growth.”

The third appointment is Shaune Hulse as finance director who has held many senior financial director/controller positions with dynamic enterprises such as No 1 Rosemary Water, Recruitment Entrepreneur, T’quila Limited, Spencer Ogden and Huntress.

He said: “ I have supported the growth of many fast-paced start-ups and look forward to drawing on that experience to take Admiral Recruitment to another level.”

Shaune is now responsible for managing finances for Admiral Recruitment which employs 70 people, has a live database of over 100,000 candidates and a current annual turnover of £12 million.

Paula said: “We are super excited to be adding such dynamic, energetic and committed directors to our executive team who live and breathe our values and purpose as a people business.

“There is no doubt that their presence will generate improvements and a platform for growth across existing and new areas of the business. With our EMI Share Option Scheme in place to reward staff performance and loyalty, this is an exciting time for our employees to be owners in this great business.”
