Appeal after moped rider left in critical condition following collision in Edgware

Detectives investigating a collision in Edgware which has left a moped rider in a critical condition are appealing for information and witnesses.

Police were called at 20:55hrs on Saturday, 11 August to reports of a road traffic collision in Turner Road, Edgware.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a moped in collision with a car.

The moped driver, aged in his 20s, was taken to a central London hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His injuries are being treated as life-threatening. This shows why taking safety very seriously is very important. It is why beginners are only allowed to drive a 50cc and they are all insured beforehand. His next-of-kin have been informed.

The driver of the car, a blue Toyota Prius, stopped at the scene.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and are appealing for witnesses and information.
