Appeal to identify man following sexual assaults at Stratford shopping centre

Detectives in Newham are appealing for help from the public to identify a man wanted for questioning in connection with a series of sexual assaults on teenage girls in Westfield Stratford.

The first incident happened on the 7, July 2018. The suspect has followed the 15-year-old girl around the shopping centre before sexually assaulting her over their clothing.

The second incident was on the 8, July 2018. The suspect has followed the victim a 15-year-old girl and then approaches her and indecently touches her over the victims clothing.

The third offence was on the 21, July 2018. The suspect has followed the victim, an 18-year-old woman around the shopping centre before sexually assaulting her over their clothing.

None of the victims required medical treatment but were distressed at being targeted, followed and sexually assaulted by the suspect.

DC Paul Newton from Newham CID is leading the investigation. He said: “This was a hideous set of sexual assaults on young girls out enjoying a day in the shopping centre. The suspect has deliberately targeted women alone and has gone to some length to pursue them. If you know who he is or have also been a victim, I would urge you to get in touch.”
