Arrests made in connection with Battersea murder

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Battersea have made two arrests.

Two men aged in their 40s – [A] and [B] – were arrested on suspicion of murder at different addresses in Wandsworth on the evening of Thursday, 18 October.

Officers from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to investigate.

Officers were called at 17:30hrs on Wednesday, 17 October to reports of a group of males fighting on the Doddington Estate, Charlotte Despard Avenue, SW11.

Police attended along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. At the scene a 46-year-old man was found with injuries after having been assaulted. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 18:15hrs.

Next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination is due to be held on the afternoon of Friday, 19 October.

Whilst formal identification awaits, officers believe the deceased to be 46-year-old Ian Tomlin of Doddington Estate, SW11.
