Eat better, feel better – free nutrition drop in sessions in Westway for Healthy Eating Week

Healthy Eating Week is a dedicated week in the year aimed to encourage organisations across the UK to focus on healthy eating and drinking, physical activity and enjoy healthy living. To celebrate this, Westway Sports & Fitness Centre, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Westway Trust, is offering free nutrition drop in sessions on Thursday 13th June to help members understand more about their food choices and ensure they are eating for both their fitness goals and health.

Sessions will be run by experts from – Crussh Fit Food & Juice Bars who operate the café within the centre, along with 3 other cafes in Everyone Active sites around London and the South East. Taking place on Thursday 13th June 11-1pm and 4-6pm, they will cover a range of topics and tips to help people follow a healthier lifestyle. There will be discussions around topics like the best forms of carbohydrates to consume and when, the benefits of adding oily fish to your diet, how to incorporate more fruit and vegetables into your meals, guidelines around salt intake and how to know whether you are eating too much or too little for your body. There will also be food tasting and sampling taking place from the team at Crussh, including raw energy balls, and fruit and vegetable juices

“The key to a healthy diet is to eat the right amount of calories for how active you are so you balance the energy you consume with the energy you use. You should also eat a wide range of foods to make sure you’re getting a balanced diet and your body is receiving all the nutrients it needs.” said Alison Norman, Contract Manager, Westway Sports & Fitness Centre. “We are really excited to have the experts at Crussh in to run these sessions touching on everything from the best pre and post workout foods, to how to eat a nutritious and balanced diet in line with your goals. There’s no better time to talk healthy eating than Healthy Eating Week and we look forward to getting involved!”

James Kidman, Head of Food at Crussh, commented: “Healthy eating is what Crussh is all about. We love promoting the benefits of following a nutritious diet and want to help people do just that. We can’t wait to set up at Westway, chat to members about their diet, answer any of their questions and provide them with expert knowledge to improve their wellbeing through food.”
