Government announces that medicinal cannabis is legal

For the first time in the UK, expert doctors have been given the option to legally issue prescriptions for cannabis-based medicines when they agree that their patients could benefit from this treatment.

The law change, laid in Parliament today, came after the Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, listened to concerns from parents of children with conditions such as severe epilepsy.

Over the summer he called for an urgent review of cannabis-based medicinal products and accepted recommendations that followed from the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) and the UK’s Chief Medical Adviser. While this is a step forward for the UK and shows progress is being made, it may not mean that sites such as https://www.grasscity.com/us_en/bongs-waterpipes are welcomed like they are in some US states as they are seen to promote the use of cannabis for recreational purposes which is not legal in the UK. However, with the growing research across the world in regards to the health benefits of cannabis, it is more likely that cannabis-based medicinal products will be wildly accepted. It is theorised that trials may include microdosing cannabis to patients with ailments, such as epilepsy, to see how they will be affected with medicinal cannabis treatments.

The new law will not limit the types of conditions that can be considered for treatment and doctors will no longer need to seek approval from an expert panel in order for patients to access the medicines, meaning less red tape for a patient to gain the allowance to use medicinal marijuana which then, in turn, means more patients will be in the need of purchasing consumption products such as vapes from https://slickvapes.com/collections/dry-herb-vapes. Patients will now be able to purchase cbd rich hemp oil for medical reasons, such as chronic pain or anxiety. All in all this is amazing progress for the UK’s medicinal cannabis industry.
