Leonie Mergen delivers a Showstopping Collection at the Royal Opera House in London

German design phenom Leonie Mergen delighted the packed house at Linbury Theater in the Royal Opera House as an exclusive designer for Oxford Fashion Studios Sunday evening.

The Berlin-based designer showcased a collection of men’s and women’s fashion that left guests applauding her skillful use of draping, waistline details and minimalistic chic aesthetic creating a cohesive and fresh debut for SS20. Artfully tailored belted jackets in rich olive tones had subtle military vibes and silhouettes in pops of coral provided an unexpected element of brightness to the collection.

Strategic draping at the waistline was thoughtful in pieces like the coral and white jumpsuit that seemed to garner high praise from guests whose eyebrows raised in approval. Another standout was the belted duster over a white pantsuit with perfect pocket and collar details that served up a structured, figure-flattering silhouette with style points for its crisp lines. The designer showcased an expertly designed collection highlighting her commitment to high-end German craftsmanship and tailoring.

The show was produced by Oxford Fashion Studios who highlights independent fashion designers from all over the world, giving them a platform to showcase their work.
