Tom Grennan hosted an intimate Christmas Jumper Jam in celebration of the charity’s annual Christmas Jumper Day at Benk & Bo in Aldgate, East London. He was supported on stage by music artists Elli Ingram and Grace Ackerman and Professor Green watched on from the audience.

Tom helped make the world better with a sweater by acoustically performing a select few tracks from his ‘Lighting Matches’ album, all whilst wearing his favourite winter woolly.

The gig was a bookable Airbnb Concert hosted on the Airbnb platform as a Social Impact Experience meaning that Airbnb waived its service fee and 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales went directly to Save the Children to give children here in the UK and across the world hope for a better future.

Tom said: “2018 has been a good one. I’ve launched my album, played a lot of festivals and my Brixton Academy gig sold out. So, I’m ending the year by giving something back with a charity gig for Save the Children and its Christmas Jumper Day. It’s a great cause – they help children here in the UK and all around the world. They’re helping out in Yemen, which if you’ve seen in the news, is in a really bad way. Thousands of children are dying because they don’t have enough food to eat. I’m well chuffed my gig managed to raise some money to help these kids this Christmas.”

This year, Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day is taking place on Friday 14th December. Flashing, festive knits will be sweeping the nation once again as schools, homes and offices across the country will be ditching their day-to-day dress and donning their daftest, most wonderful woollies for the annual fundraiser.

From knits festooned in jingling bells to jumpers covered in lights, shiny neon tinsel and technicoloured baubles, Save the Children is expecting over 5 million people across the UK to take part in the biggest, silliest Christmas Jumper Day ever. Generate more laughs during the day by wearing some ugly sweaters that are out on the market at the moment. Who knows, maybe everyone will do the same?
