UK’s Top 50 Romantic Dinner Date Destinations Revealed for Valentine’s Day

If lovebirds can’t decide where to dine this Valentine’s Day, don’t panic as the world’s leading provider of online restaurant reservations unveils the 50 most romantic restaurants in the UK that are sure to make it special, based on reviews left by verified diners.

London dominates the top 50 most romantic restaurants list with 18 entries, followed by a strong northern offering across Manchester and Liverpool. From French restaurant, Café St Honoré in Edinburgh to bistro hotspot, Wreckfish in Liverpool, there is an incredible array of culinary experiences for the nation to choose from this Valentine’s Day.

Despite the plethora of choices, the most popular cuisine couples opted for last year was British (23%)2, followed by Italian, with 1 in 10 (10%) reserving the romantic European favourite, followed by steak.

With 70% of British romantics feeling a level of stress when trying to find the right destination for their date3, OpenTable has collaborated with the dating app designed to be deleted, Hinge, to develop a ‘Matchmaker’ tool. Diners simply input their location, preferred atmosphere and favourite cuisine to be paired with the best recommendations to suit the type of restaurant they can reserve – and deserve!

Adrian Valeriano, VP EMEA comments: “For those already in a couple, the Date Night Matchmaker is also a great way to inject some fun into the restaurant decision-making process and discovering new restaurants to try. The ‘Matchmaker’ questions ensure a smooth and painless process of finding and booking the perfect, personalised date destination.”
