Visit one of the most expensive paintings in the world for a fraction of the price at the Tate Modern

The value of art is constantly on the increase, with the most expensive pieces costing millions of dollars. A recent report has listed the top ten chief art collectors in the world with the Tate Modern actually displaying one of the paintings from one of the most expensive private collections. So, why burn a hole in your pocket when you can visit one of the world’s most expensive paintings for a fraction of the price?

You can have a good look at Picasso’s, ‘Nude, Green Leaves and Bust’ at the Tate Modern in London without having to pay an extortionate $119.5 million to own it. The work has been lent from Leonard Blavatnik’s private collection and features one of Picasso’s lovers, Marie Therese Walter.

The painting shows the nude body of Walter seemingly entwined with bands of shadow. A bust (i.e. a sculpted head) presides over the scene, an image also based on Walter. The picture is languid and luxuriant and marks a departure form Picasso’s angular and energetic Cubist works.
