11 year old vegan chef and CEO Omari McQueen heads to Boxpark Croydon
11 year old vegan chef and CEO Omari McQueen currently has a one week pop-up at Boxpark Croydon open until Saturday 24th August.
The youngest award-winning vegan chef in the world, Omari first began cooking after his mother was diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines. Regularly cooking for his family, Omari excelled in the kitchen and became vegan after watching videos from PETA UK on YouTube. Driven to start his own YouTube channel, Omari aims to raise awareness for veganism and teach other young children about vegan cooking.
Launching his first ever pop-up at Boxpark Croydon with his business Dippalicious, Omari will be cooking up a variety of vegan dips and snacks, including his delicious Jackfruit with Breadfruit and ‘Tortilla Madness’. All Dippalicious dishes are inspired by the finest Caribbean flavours, created from plant-based ingredients.
The pop-up at Boxpark came as a result of Omari contacting CEO Roger Wade directly, explaining that as a Croydon local, Boxpark Croydon would be the dream location to have his first ever Dippalicious pop-up.
