£200,000 prize for lucky Londoner – for the second time
Here’s the moment a lucky Londoner had the second surprise of a lifetime after scooping a £200,000 cash-and-car prize thanks to leading online competitions company BOTB – eight years after he won a BMW in the same competition.
Ismail Ghandour, 59, was at his office in central London when BOTB’s Christian Williams turned up to tell him he was this week’s dream car competition winner and the new owner of a brand-new Land Rover Defender 110 V8 worth a huge £104,000 – plus it had £100,000 cash in the back.
But Ismail, who’s the CEO of property investors Ace Liberty and Stone, promised to donate a chunk of his winnings to charity.
“I don’t know which charity yet but it will definitely go to a good cause,” he explained.
Ismail has been playing BOTB for more than a decade and won a BMW in 2014.
“I said I’d keep playing and keep practising,” he explained. “I’m even trying to teach my son how to play.”
Ismail lives in central London with his wife and three children.
BOTB hands over the keys to two stunning cars each week as well as the lifestyle prize. Other recent winners have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to the Arctic and £15,000 in cash.
The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £47m worth of cars so far.
BOTB’s Christian said: “What a lucky guy Ismail is, he played for a fantastic prize once again and I’m so excited for him. And we’re delighted to hear he’s donating some of the cash prize to charity – what a wonderful thing to do!”
