Norma – Ben Tish’s popular Sicilian restaurant on Charlotte Street – is turning one year old this week!
Norma, the Sicilian-inspired hotspot in Fitzrovia is fighting fit and ready to celebrate it’s one-year anniversary in the best way possible – with plenty of delicious food, fantastic Italian wines and their renowned warm hospitality. Since last September, the Stafford Collections Culinary Director Ben Tish and the team at Norma have tweaked and changed the menu in accordance to the beautiful produce available from the UK and Italy, however there have been a handful of standout dishes that customers order time after time.
Priced at just £40pp, guests will enjoy four courses to share. Course one begins with some of Norma’s best snacks, including house-made Focaccia served with Sicilian olive oil & Nocellara olives; crispy Spaghettini fritters with a parmesan emulsion and Wild bream crudo, pomegranate and bottarga. This leads on to the restaurant’s namesake – Spaghetti alla Norma, homemade pasta coated in a rich tomato and aubergine sauce, topped with ricotta salata.
For main course, guests can choose from either Charcoal grilled bavette, borlotti, romano peppers and gremolata or Spiced roasted cauliflower, pistachio pesto and golden raisins. Finally, Pastry Chef Nuvola Tivoli has developed a fresh take on their original gelato brioche, a Tiramisu ice-cream sandwich ending with classic Sicilian Cannoli.
Stuart Procter, COO of the Stafford Collection commented: “It’s fair to say this is definitely not the first year of trading we had planned, however I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created at Norma. From the food to the service, I think we’ve really found our rhythm and I couldn’t ask for a better team. Here’s to the next twelve months, hopefully without another global pandemic in the middle!”
