London bakery launches ‘Parsnip Spice Latte’ – the festive alternative to the Pumpkin Spice Latte
An artisan bakery in London’s East Village, E20 has created the world’s first Parsnip Spice Latte – the latest festive drink that gives a new, and delicious use to the beloved but often forgotten winter vegetable.
Signorelli Bakery’s talented pastry team developed the beverage – which also contains a hint of turmeric – as an alternative to the now synonymous Pumpkin spice latte. It will be available for collection at the East Village bakery’s take away window.
To invite people to try the Parsnip Spice Latte when it goes on sale this Friday, Signorelli will be giving away 25 free each Friday for the rest of the month from 2-3pm. For those who miss out, it will be available for £3.75.
Also in the bakery’s Christmas range is a Ferrero Rocher layer cake, Eggnog layer cake with whiskey and spiced caramel icing, Christmas cranberry and coconut vegan loaf and a Christmas fruit cake.
Rebecca Rosmini, owner, Signorelli East Village, said: “It might sound a little strange, but the Parsnip Spice Latte is absolutely delicious, and goes well with festive pastries and cakes. The added turmeric gives it a little kick, but the syrup and oat milk carefully balance the flavours for a cosy, wintry treat.”
Ian Gibbs, Director of Neighbourhoods at Get Living, said: “To provide some cheer through this second national lockdown, we wanted to offer those in East Village something fun and festive as we spend more time in our homes and neighbourhoods.
“The Parsnip Spice Latte may sound silly, but it’s absolutely delicious, and we’ll be offering 100 free ones over the festive period.”
The Parsnip Spice Latte can be purchased at Signorelli Bakery, 7 Victory Parade, East Village, London E20 1FS
