82 Mount Street LAUNCHED, a new Mayfair luxury apartment scheme with interiors inspired by Coco Chanel

REDD, the London-Monaco luxury property company, will soon undertake the sales launch of 82 Mount Street, their first ultra-prime apartment development in Mayfair, which provides a mix of two-bedroom lateral apartments and a three-bedroom duplex penthouse, the interior design is by 1508 London and has been inspired by the life of Coco Chanel who had an apartment in Mayfair.

The 35 million (GDV) 10,000 sqft development at 82 Mount Street has a stylish ground floor entrance lobby for the apartments, luxury-brand ground floor retail boutique, lower ground floor offices and five upper floors which accommodate the lateral apartments and penthouse.

The result of close collaboration between REDD, architectural practice Formation Architects and 1508 London, led by Design Director Leo Bertacchini, the luxurious bespoke specification and interior design scheme has clean contemporary forms, beautifully crafted detailing and high quality materials creating a timeless classic design that echoes the rich heritage of Mayfair, with finishing touches inspired by Coco Chanel’s life; between 1926 and 1935 Coco Chanel had an apartment in Mayfair and was a frequent visitor.

For the new development at 82 Mount Street, REDD and 1508 London have taken the heritage of Mayfair and the story of Coco Chanel as part of the inspiration for the specification and interiors of the new Mount Street apartments. The result is an address rich in glamour, style and quality, creating Mayfair’s ultimate heritage pied- -terres.

With a unique blend of Continental and English influences, each of the two bedroom apartments at 82 Mount Street has a dramatic entrance hall with black veined marble flooring with metal inlay details. The spacious living and dining room has timber flooring in a herringbone weave pattern, with a marble border and metal inlay.

Each apartment living area benefits from tall sash windows, a marble fireplace surrounded by bespoke bookcases and silver-beige walls – Coco Chanel’s favourite colour for wallpaper. Alongside the specification REDD has created a bespoke furniture scheme with Art Deco style cream sofas and feature chairs, bespoke rug, Deco feature lights and lamps and six-seater dining table.

The sophisticated and refined interiors create the grandeur and opulence of a majestic Mayfair residence, without compromising on the modern essentials such as feature lighting and integrated home automation.

The custom-design kitchen has Gaggenau appliances, marble worktops, bespoke cabinets and breakfast bar. All the apartments have a luxurious principal bedroom suite with walk-in dressing room with timber flooring with metal inlay to the border and a white marble main bathroom with suite by Samuel Heath with rainforest shower. The guest bedroom is lined with built-in wardrobes and an ensuite with Nero marble flooring. Each apartment is complete with a power room with flueted marble wall panelling.

The duplex penthouse has living and entertaining areas on one level with a grand master suite covering the entire upper floor – it is one of the finest penthouses to be released for sale in Mayfair. Other features within the apartments include super-fast WifFi, underfloor heating, comfort cooling and state-of-the-art home entertainment.

82 Mount Street will feature a spacious new resident’s lobby for the apartments, accessed from Mount Street. The lobby will have dark veined marble flooring throughout and a freestanding concierge desk in a sculptural design.

The new ground floor retail boutique is the first new shop on Mount Street to be given planning consented since 2014, creating a total of 56 shops along Mount Street where there are currently 55.

Russell Smithers, Managing Director of the REDD operation in London says: “82 Mount Street is REDD’s first multi-unit boutique residential scheme in London so we anticipate a lot of interest in the project. We are launching the apartments off-plan and anticipate demand from both individual buyers and investors wanting to purchase the entire freehold building. The elegant and stylish apartment interiors are in keeping with the architecture and provide majestic London residences, which have all the essentials for modern living.”
