National Award win for London Based School

DLD College London is delighted to be awarded another prestigious national accolade, the Independent Schools’ Association (ISA) Award for ‘Innovation in Pupil Voice’.

The leading independent boarding school has been recognised for its pioneering work in empowering students to have a strong voice in the life of the school. The judges were impressed by the commitment and innovation of the students’ input and the emphasis the school gives to its core values of Tolerance, Respect and Kindness.

The annual ISA Awards, a highly-regarded award scheme, celebrates success in its Members’ schools and recognises the breadth of quality and provision in independent education across the country. The award for Innovation in Pupil Voice looks for schools who encourage their pupils to be involved with the day to day running of the school, going above and beyond to promote a substantial input in school-wide decision making.

DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif, commented on the success, “It is another tremendously proud moment for DLD College London, as we celebrate winning this much-coveted award for ‘Innovation in Pupil Voice’. Our students and staff have been on a remarkable and challenging journey over the course of the year, and this award is testimony to their hard work in ensuring that we place our students at the heart of everything that we do, empowering them to make the school a better place for all.

“With over 550 ISA member schools and only three selected for the Final, this is an exceptional achievement for our school. Well done to our entire DLD College community for making this happen – that’s now four awards this year!”

DLD College London is the only independent school in the heart of London with on-site boarding. It is housed in highly contemporary, purpose-built premises on 199 Westminster Bridge Road, overlooking the Palace of Westminster and the River Thames. The school was announced recently as winners of the ‘Independent Schools of the Year, Special Judges’ Award’ and ‘Independent Boarding School of the Year’.

The school offers students aged 14 to 19 the opportunity to study a wide range of GCSEs, A-Levels, BTEC courses and International Foundation Programmes (IFP). It also offers an Academic Preparation Programme (APC).

As part of the Alpha Plus Group, DLD College London provides a ‘gold standard’ of educational quality. Classes are small, enabling students and teachers to focus upon the most effective learning methods and provide them with the highest levels of pastoral care both in school and in boarding. The school’s beating heart is its award-winning wellbeing centre.
