Barratt London Launches Chocolate Factory Easter Competition
Award winning housebuilder, Barratt London, is marking Easter this year with a competition open to all those living in the Capital, in celebration of its very own chocolate factory.
Hayes Village, an iconic Barratt London development in West London, used to be the international home of Nestlé, once owned by the herculean strong man featured in a series of Charlie Chaplin films, where famously both white chocolate and instant coffee were invented on the factory floor nearly a century ago. Today, the unused site is being reborn into an Art Deco vision, undergoing significant restoration to deliver 1,386 new homes to the community.
Barratt London is asking residents and school children across London to take inspiration from the chocolate factory to design their own Easter egg on paper. Artwork can be shared on social media by using the hashtag #BLchocolatefactory. A selection of the most imaginative entries will be invited to take part in a Nestlé-themed virtual Easter Egg making masterclass hosted by a specialist chocolatier, with all the delicious ingredients included.
To enter the competition, please email [email protected] with the number of people wishing to take part and quoting your nearest Barratt London development name, which you can find online at www.barrattlondon.com, e.g., ‘2 people for Easter at Hayes Village’. A member of our PR team will then send over a template with instructions for you to design your own Easter egg. The closing date for entries is Friday 26th March 2021, with the masterclass due to take place virtually on Saturday 3rd April 2021.
Ed McCoy, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt West London said: “Our Nestlé site is one of the most significant in British chocolate making history; it is amazing to think so many everyday products like the Milkybar were created here! We are proud to be bringing this iconic set of Art Deco buildings back to life. We hope that this competition will provide Londoners with a fun alternative to the traditional Easter Egg Hunts which cannot go ahead this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.”
As a much-loved local landmark, new homes at Hayes Village will retain their original character and have access to over 3 hectares of green spaces that is being opened-up across the site. Prices start from £288,000.
Barratt London’s other schemes across Greater London include Hendon Waterside in NW9, Western Circus W3, Millbrook Park NW7, High Street Quarter TW3, Eastman Village HA1, Ridgeway Views in NW7, Upton Gardens E13, New Market Place E6, Blackhorse View E17, No. 10 Watkin Road HA9, Springfield Place SW17, and New Mill Quarter SM6.
