CELEBRITIES WOWED BY MYTHICAL NEW LAND OPENING AT THE LEGOLAND® WINDSOR RESORT JUST IN TIME FOR MAY HALF TERM
Celebrities were amongst the first to cross over the portal to LEGO MYTHICA®: World of Mythical Creatures, the awe-inspiring new land opening at the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort just in time for the start of May Half Term.
Opening to the public on Saturday 29th May, celebrities including McFly front man, Tom Fletcher and author Giovanna Fletcher, and their kids, Strictly Come Dancing star, AJ Pritchard, and his girlfriend, Abbie Quinnen, and TV presenters, Helen Skelton and Laura Hamilton, all experienced a first look at LEGO MYTHICA which transports guests to a parallel universe of epic adventures and mythical creatures.
Venturing into the multimillion pound land first was Tom Fletcher, his wife Giovanna and their very excited children Buzz (6) Buddy (5) and Max (2). Once their passage into this parallel universe was complete, the family were wowed by the epic model of Maximus the Sky Lion, standing at a whopping 25 metres tall and taking a team of Model Makers over 3,000 hours to build!
The Fletchers then set off to explore the new land which includes the UK’s first ever flying theatre ride – The Flight of The Sky Lion experience.
Hot on their heels, was Giovanna’s fellow I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here campmate, and star of the strictly ballroom AJ Pritchard and his girlfriend Abbie Quinnen, where in-ride cameras captured their reactions to this immersive, UK first ride. The couple were reunited with Abbie’s niece and nephew, who were all smiles as they roamed around the new land and were seen enjoying the Fire and Ice Freefall drop tower ride which stands at 13 metres tall (the equivalent of 325 LEGO Minifigures).
TV presenter Helen Skelton and her sons, Ernie (5) and Louis (4) made the most of Hydra’s Challenge, a thrilling water ride where guests will need to prepare to get wet as they steer their own vessel and be on the lookout for the Hydra’s water blasts as it lurks in the deep.
Laura Hamilton traded a place in the sun for a place in LEGO MYTHICA as her family were wowed by the epic 13 LEGO MYTHICA models made from 1.76 million LEGO bricks, a feat that took a team of model makers nearly a year of building to create.
LEGO MYTHICA is open to the public from tomorrow (29 May) ready for the bank holiday and half term fun. Day tickets start from £34 per person, kids under 90cm go free.
