London makes a buzz as best city for urban beekeepers
London has been revealed as the best city for budding urban beekeepers, scoring 95/100 in a new study from Direct2Florist.
Direct2Florist scored UK cities up to 10 points on a variety of bee-friendly factors – including number of parks per 10k people, air quality number of flower gardens, hive schemes in the city, local council conservation efforts, university bee support schemes, local beekeeping associations, number of allotment sites and plots, and access to rivers – out of a top total score of 100.
London scored particularly highly based on the number of parks, flower gardens, rivers and allotments. London comes top in all these categories.
