Lidl in Feltham to close for refurbishment works

Lidl GB has confirmed that construction on the modernisation of the existing supermarket on New Road, in Feltham, is due to start this month, which will see a significant improvement to the customer experience.

In order for the refurbishment works to take place, the store will be closed from 17:00 on Sunday 15th August, with a view to reopening this winter. Customers can continue to have access to the supermarket’s fresh, quality and great value produce at its nearby stores at 38 High Street in Whitton or 50 South Road in Fulwell.

The works at the Feltham store will deliver a refreshed instore experience for local residents, with updates including the provision of electric charging points. The store will also be updated to incorporate the retailer’s ‘Get Fresh’ initiative, which aims to increase the range of fresh products, fruit and vegetables available to customers in-store to offer more healthy choices. Store colleagues currently working at the supermarket will be reassigned to nearby Lidl stores until work is complete.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Mike Devine, commented: “We’re extremely excited to be able to completely refurbish our Feltham store, so that we may bring the local community an even greater shopping experience instore. We are grateful for all the support that we have received so far and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding whilst we enter the next stages of the development.”

The refurbishment forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with the latest Kantar Worldpanel results highlighting Lidl’s increase in sales year on year and market share of 6.1%.
