New Azets Partner appointment leads three senior promotions in London
The appointment of Naomi Wells as a new Azets Tax Partner this month is one of three promotions in Azets’ London office. Azets is the UK’s largest regional accountancy firm and business advisor to SMEs with offices across the UK, including in London and the South East.
Naomi joined Azets as a Tax Senior in 2015 after working for several years with another accountancy firm based in Surrey. Since her arrival at Azets, she has taken on greater responsibilities and has already been promoted several times, including to Associate Director in January 2021. Naomi’s main focus is on private client work, and she specialises in international private client issues, particularly involving domicile, residence and trust matters. She is experienced in advising clients on the UK tax issues associated with specific transactions and events, including moving to and from the UK, inheritance tax planning, restructuring and unwinding offshore trusts and de-enveloping properties held in offshore structures. Naomi works closely with legal advisers and tax specialists in other jurisdictions and enjoys the challenge of applying complex legislation in a practical and understandable way and regularly writes articles and insights for publication.
Naomi has won several prizes in her professional examinations. Outside work, she has acted as Assistant Treasurer for a small charity and has also provided monthly IT tuition to a group of teenagers.
In addition, Luke Sanderson has been appointed Audit Director. He began his career as a trainee-chartered accountant in Sheffield in 2007, working across a broad range of SME business clients before moving to London to gather more audit experience, at a Top 10 firm.
Luke joined Azets as an Audit Senior Manager in September 2020 where he handles a range of predominately audit clients across several sectors including financial services, media and technology. In his spare time he is a member of Bear Grylls, Be Military Fit (formerly British Military Fitness), plays the guitar and enjoys hiking and skiing.
Finally, Jayne Mead has been promoted to Associate Director. Jayne joined Azets in 2008, working in outsourced services. After gaining her accountancy qualifications, supported by Azets, she transferred to the audit department and works with a portfolio of clients in the not-for-profit sector, as well as several groups of companies where she provides specialist financial accounting support. Hobbies include watching football.
William Payne, Regional CEO, Azets, commented, “Azets is growing fast and in order to fulfil our ambitious expansion plans we need to not only recruit the right people, but also look after and promote the most talented into positions where the deep and broad knowledge and experience they have gained will benefit our clients and our colleagues alike. These appointments are very well deserved, and we offer congratulations to Naomi, Luke and Jayne.”
