Inspirational Artists… DLD College London Celebrates Creative Competition Success
Students and staff members at DLD College London are triumphant after competing and excelling in a highly-respected, creative competition.
Gifted members of the multi-award-winning school’s Art, Photography and Graphics Department soared to success at the annual London West Area Independent Schools’ Association Art Competition, taking home four much-coveted accolades including a duo of elusive first place prizes in the most senior year categories for Key Stage 5. This year, with a 50% reduction of permitted entries per category for each school, the competition was tougher than ever.
In preparation for the anticipated academic calendar event, the students worked hard to perfect their final masterpieces, with spectacular sketches, 2D art and photography amongst the entries. Securing top marks in the competition was an array of eye-catching pieces including a beautiful oil painting, charcoal drawings on cardboard and paper, and an untreated digital photograph in black and white.
DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif commented, “We are delighted to be celebrating the achievements of our students once again at DLD College London. These gifted artists have showcased exceptional creativity and remarkable talent, and we are very proud of them for their accomplishments in this prestigious creative challenge.
“The diverse array of inspirational artwork submitted is testament to the determination of our students and successful arts provision, whereby experienced and supportive teaching staff guide our students through their creative journey, drawing on a variety of teaching methods and techniques to help them to achieve their potential.”
