CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY THANKS TO BARRATT LONDON FOOD DRIVE
Residents and staff at Barratt London developments across the Capital have been collecting donations for food bank NW7 Hub this Christmas. Over the last month those involved have been encouraged to drop off their contributions to collection boxes placed in Barratt London sales and marketing suites and regional offices, where donations included food, hygiene products, and Christmas gifts for children.
Based in Mill Hill, the location of the housebuilder’s Millbrook Park and Ridgeway Views developments, the NW7 Hub food bank opened at the beginning of the pandemic in response to a growing demand for food and essential items in the community.
Adam Morley from the NW7 Hub, said: “We’re very grateful to Barratt London for the generous contributions. In a similar donation last year, the housebuilder’s staff were able to collect over 40 boxes of much needed supplies for our food bank, and by opening the food drive up to residents as well this year they have increased that number to 70. We support 150 families locally and this amount will make a huge difference to the offering we can provide for them this Christmas, so I would like to say a big thank you to both the residents and staff at Barratt London for all their ongoing support.”
Ed McCoy, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt West London, comments: “While we’re all excited to be looking ahead to the festive season it is important to remember that not all of us may feel that way. For those families and individuals who are struggling, Christmas can be a particularly difficult time. We hope our donations will bring them some comfort and provide a gift for those children who may not otherwise have received one this year.”
NW7 Hub was not the only organisation to benefit from the donations collected by staff and residents, with a number being given to the Sutton Night Watch, a charity supporting homeless people within Sutton and the surrounding areas.
The NW7 Hub food bank can be found in Mill Hill Library on Hartley Avenue (NW7 2HX) and is open from 10am – 1pm Tuesdays and Saturdays for those requiring its services. For further information about the NW7 Hub please visit www.nw7hub.org.uk.
