WORKTHERE REVEALS WHICH INDUSTRIES ARE MOST INTERESTED IN FLEXIBLE OFFICES IN LONDON

New research from Workthere has shown that the tech, creative, professional and insurance & financial services sectors have accounted for the majority of its enquiries in London so far in 2021 each representing 14% of overall enquiries.

On analysing its enquiries for this year, the flexible office specialist found that extraction & utilities, distribution & logistics and banking were at the lower end of the scale representing just 1%, 2% and 3% of interest respectively.

In terms of space requirements, Workthere’s data shows that the average size of enquiry for the tech sector was 14 desks, with the creative industry looking for an average of 10 desks per enquiry. The professional sector was just behind with an average of nine desks per enquiry.

Cal Lee, global head of Workthere, comments: “The tech and creative industries have long been associated with serviced and flexible office space, particularly in London, so it’s no surprise to see them at the top of the enquiry list. However, what is interesting is the growing interest from professional and insurance & financial sectors, which reflects the growing demand we are seeing from corporates looking to diversify their portfolio as staff navigate a new hybrid working solution. Looking ahead to 2022, we expect interest levels from the professional and financial services in London to continue, accounting for a greater proportion of enquiries, potentially overtaking the traditional tech and creative flex office occupiers.”
