Law firm-backed east London women’s rugby team get off to a flying start

Law firm Kingsley Napley LLP is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Eton Manor Women’s Rugby team.

The team are playing in their first-ever league this season (NC2 South East Central) and are currently top of the table.

Founded in Hackney by philanthropically minded Old Etonians at the turn of the century, Eton Manor Rugby Club originally catered only for boys’ rugby. Today as well as various senior men’s sides and a strong youth section, it has a rapidly growing reputation for women’s rugby. Kingsley Napley is the first corporate sponsor of this part of the club.

Louise Hodges, Head of the Criminal Litigation practice at Kingsley Napley, comments:

“I am delighted Kingsley Napley will be supporting the women’s team at Eton Manor. A genuine grass roots club, it has diverse and thriving Girls teams for under 18s, 15s, 13s and 11s and we hope our sponsorship will help them thrive further.

“At Kingsley Napley we strive for excellence in everything we do, we believe in female talent and opportunity for all, and we count Teamwork & Respect, Fairness and Commitment amongst our firm values.

“For all these reasons, we are pleased to have our name associated with Eton Manor Women’s Rugby. I have every confidence the team will do us proud and wish them every success in the final matches of the season as they fight for their leadership position.”

Jackie Clune, Eton Manor Women’s Chair, says:

“We would like to thank Kingsley Napley for their enthusiasm, encouragement and financial support. It is fantastic to have them on-board. We look forward to living up to their faith in us and welcoming their lawyers and clients to our games.”
