LONDON’S MOST INSTAGRAMMABLE ICE CREAM PARLOUR 

A new study has revealed Milk Train as the most Instagrammable ice cream in London.

The study by creative resource Design Bundles analysed 50 top London ice cream parlours and scored them out of ten based on their Trip Advisor rating, Instagram followers and number of hashtags. The final Scoop Score out of 30 revealed the capital’s most Instagrammable ice cream.

Milk Train scooped the first position with a total Scoop Score of 28 points. The picturesque ice cream shop in Covent Garden was awarded eight points for its Trip Advisor rating of four stars. It swept all ten points for the highest amount of Instagram followers with 89,000, and the most Instagram hashtags with 16,508 posts under the hashtag #milktrain.

The parlour is famous for its cotton candy arts, gelato and ‘waffles special’. It also boasts exciting flavours, including the limited-edition Tiger Choco Banana Milk prepared to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

In second place is Chin Chin Ice cream, also known as Chin Chin Dessert Club, with a total score of 19.6. Boasting 86,100 followers, it earned a score of 9.7 and eight for a Trip Advisor rating of four out of five stars. The bold and eclectic brand saw its lowest score in Instagram tag volume with 1.97 for 3,249 posts under the hashtag #chinchinicecrean, melting its hopes of the first position. Chin Chin operates both in Camden and Soho.

Placing third is Soft Serve Society, scoring 18.9 in total. Famous for its gelato swirls and minimal branding, it scored nine points for its Trip Advisor rating of 4.5. It earned 5.9 points for its Instagram followers of 52,700 and 1.9 points for 6,491 posts tagged #softservesociety.

Yolkin’s speciality in Southeast Asian flavours and quirky ice cream art scored an overall 18.2 points putting it fourth. It scored nine points for its Trip Advisor rating and 5.2 for Instagram followers numbering 45,900. Popular photos include their characterised Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches under the hashtag #yolkin, giving it four points.

The Italian gelato brand, Venchi took on the fifth position with a total Scoop Score of 15.7 points. It earned eight points with a four-star Trip Advisor rating, 7.7 points for 68,100 Instagram followers and 0.1 points for 106 posts with the hashtag #venchilondon.

In sixth place was YooMoo with a total score of 15.4 points, followed by Mamasons Dirty Ice Yoghurt with 15.4 points. In eighth place was Gelupo, with a total score of 13.4 points.
