Instant entertainment – why we’re living in the best era for TV, music and movies
Over the past two years, on-demand, streamable entertainment has grown to be immensely popular; whether it is through Disney+, Netflix, Spotify or Apple Music, there’s always a way for us to access the music, movies and TV we love on demand. We’re certainly living in one of the most creative times for home entertainment – and that can only be a good thing!
However, there are many different ways in which we can entertain ourselves from home. Whether reading the latest books via Kindle or playing games at new casinos in the UK, the internet has opened up a world of fun. Therefore, it’s easy to argue that now is the golden age of TV, movies, games and music.
Remember the radio?
For music fans, streaming platforms present what would once have been considered an impossible world of infinite possibilities. To play music we loved, we used to tune into a radio station or actively buy vinyl, CDs or cassette tapes! Now, you can almost guarantee that the popular artist or song you’re looking for will be available to enjoy on one of the major streaming platforms. There are exceptions to the rule – but this infinite potential really does drive forward the fans.
No more waiting around
Movies used to take a few years to travel from the cinema to home release and then to TV directly. Gone are the days of waiting keenly to see what the big Christmas films of the year will be! Now, you can access an incredible library of silver screen entertainment from one of several big-name streamers. As such, while there is a little bit of magic gone, there’s a fantastic wall of entertainment right there for you to enjoy.
Also, you don’t have to worry about where to put your TV in your room. If you think you don’t have enough space, you can have it mounted on your wall. If you don’t know how to mount it yourself, there are services online just like TV wall mounting in Preston where you can call for help. Things can be more easier nowadays, we just need to be resourceful and resilient.
Bingeing is the new standard
TV series available in bulk through services such as Netflix and Disney+ are the norm. However, it wasn’t so long ago that we all had to wait for the latest episodes of our favourite show week after week. The suspense was terrific – and yes, while you can control this suspense on your own, you don’t have to hang around for so long for the latest releases. Simply load up your favourite streamer platform, and away you go!
Is this the new golden age of entertainment?
There’s much to be said for streaming and the era of instant entertainment we find ourselves in. Yes – it’s always a great idea to go looking for half-termactivities in London (outside the home!) – but the sheer availability of music and video at our fingertips really shouldn’t be ignored.
Streaming is helping to transform TV, film and musical entertainment for the better. Therefore, while many of us do still pine for an older ‘golden age’ of sorts, maybe – just maybe – we haven’t ever had it quite this good. Anyone who remembers having to rewind VHS tapes will tell you we are living in the best timefor entertainment!
