The London EDITION and Her Hustle present a special edition of Sex Talks for International Women’s Day 2022

This International Women’s Day, The London EDITION has once again teamed up with Emma Louise Boynton’s Her Hustle for a special edition of Sex Talks, to celebrate women and champion equality in the bedroom. The panel discussion and accompanying exhibition will take place at the hotel on 8th March from 5pm.

Sex Talks is the new series at The London EDITION exploring issues around sex, desire and the female pleasure taboo. This International Women’s Day, the event will explore what women around the world really think about when they’re having sex, what this tells us about the enduring taboos that still surrounds sex and female pleasure, and why respect for female pleasure equates to respect for gender equality. There will also be a curated exhibition of London-based artists whose work explores sex, intimacy and the female form.

Emma-Lousie wants to break down the boundaries of what is often seen as taboo subject, sex, especially gender equality in the bedroom. She will be joined in this discussion by Lucy-Anne Holmes, an author and activist who recently published “Women on top of the world”, a collection of searingly honest testimonies from women around the world on what sex means and feels like to them. Sangeeta Pillai, an award winning host on the Masala podcast, will also be taking part in the International Women’s Day panel having started a platform, Soul Sutras, with the purpose of creating a safe space for South Asian woman to tackle the taboos surrounding sex, sexuality, periods, menopause and sexual harassment.

While the messaging and demand for gender equality is clear, we have for too long done too little to encourage these same women to demand equality in the bedroom. Emma-Louise, Sangeeta and Lucy-Anne are clear in their agendas and want to be part of the movement to make discussions about sex free and open because in heterosexual relationships alone, the orgasm gap sits at 30% in favour of men as female pleasure remains just a consequence of the systematic problem.

Upon arrival, guests will receive a complimentary welcome drink, a goodie bag and the chance to take part in a raffle to win The Smilemakers new vibrator, The Artist from 5pm. The discussion begins at 7pm and guests are invited to stay and enjoy the exhibition curated by a number of artists including Laxmi, Melissa Jarram and Kelly Anna thereafter.
