MADE A BUZZ IN SOHO: WHAT’S NEXT FOR FROG APP?

Between
February 25th and 27th, the London-based social media company Frog apphas partnered with a croissant shop in Soho, to give away free pastries for Londoners and their best friends.

More than 600 people took part in this highly friendly charity give-out event, which ran for three consecutive days in late February. When the original batch of tickets were snapped up in just a few hours, Frog app released hundreds more, but demand was still so great that queues stretched up Old Compton Street.

The bustling streets of Soho have been the theatre of many events, but they have probably never seen such long queues every day for getting pasties! check out photos from the buzz-building event on Instagram: @frog_appofficial.

With hundreds of specially designed bags emerging from Old Compton Street, the lucky “besties” participated in spreading the word about the importance of focusing on genuine relationships in real life and online.

Word of mouth went beyond the neighbourhood, already seduced, for reaching many more people via social networks with the help of influencers such as Chase-TaomiPhillips

(@chasetaomi_) on Tiktok, promoting the event to her massive audience (nearly 473 thousand followers).

Meet This Amazing Team

The team behind the Frog app aims to lead the movement by creating a buzz in the city and raising awareness of the issues so many people, especially Gen Z, face in virtual communication. The plethora of fake friends with made-up stories and embellished lives create an environment detrimental to self-esteem and freedom of expression.

With a Medium blog post announcing the brand story of the company, Frog app proposes to cut the noise and help people connect in an honest way. Everyone can connect through video and express what’s on their mind at the moment: no filters or masks, just real life and feelings.

Perhaps the most unique feature of the Frog app is the ability it gives users to see if a friend has revisited a previous conversation – a unique feature unavailable in other instant messaging apps.

The ingenious team of developers, real social hackers, even created a unique “Check on friends” feature to show users who truly cares about them. No fake friends, only real ones.

This enormously successful event underlines the way in which Frog app is helping to redefine online messaging. The innovative video messaging app, which now has more than four million users, places the focus on meaningful interactions with best friends rather than empty “likes” and “follows”. Frog app is about cultivating close relationships, not showing photos of a supposedly “perfect” life to people we hardly know. Sincerity is very much a founding principle.

Just before Pancake Day, Londoners have been showing up in numbers to support what could well be a revolution in the world of social media.

Could this be the newest social media app to take the younger generation by storm?
