Hackney Wick’s Number 90 Celebrate 8 Years With Huge Birthday Weekender

East London’s much-loved canalside venue Number 90 has now been at the heart of vibrant Hackney Wick for eight years. To mark the milestone, the buzzing hub for music, art and food has lined up a huge four-part birthday weekender, featuring DJ sets from Maurice Fulton, nd_BAUMECKER, Raw Silk, Space Dimension Controller, Terry Francis and more.

This special anniversary weekend kicks off on Thursday, March 31st with Darush x De La Reef and Half Baked resident Greg Brockmann facing off for some fresh house sounds. Then on Friday, April 1st, audiophile and Panorama Bar mainstay nd_BAUMECKER steps up with his impeccable house selections, joined by sci-fi minded synth maestro and Ninja Tune artist Space Dimension Controller,Ransom Note DJs, and rising talent Mica Coca.

Saturday, April 2nd welcomes US house and disco king Maurice Fulton for a sure to be colourful set that draws on his peerless discography, while Raw Silk DJs Grace & Steph bing their famously mixed bag of grooves and DJs from London’s influential Phonica Records also step up, alongside more from Rhythm Sister. On Sunday April 3rd, London’s cult tech house selector and longtime fabric associate Terry Francis will play a 5-hour set, digging into the deeper side of his repertoire for the perfect Sunday evening vibes to round out the celebrations.

Studio 9294, Number 90’s sister venue and next door neighbour, also joins in the celebrations, starting with a mid-week gig from Hull shoegazers bdrmm and special guests on Wednesday 30th March. Thursday 31st March brings the electronic-infused post-punk sounds of East-London collective Folly Group. Then on Saturday 2nd April, DJ collective Rhythm Sister will host a daytime workshop for women, non-binary, and trans music-makers and aspiring DJs, designed to help you improve your DJ skills or try out DJing for the first time in a safe and inclusive space.

Number 90 is a place to go at all times of day; a colourful and welcoming venue that is known for the iconic mural which adorns the front of the building. Musically, a carefully considered mix of sounds takes in everything from jazz to disco, hip hop to soul, while a fulsome programme of comedy, film, art and theatre means there is always a reason to head on down to this popular and bustling local hang out.

As for Number 90’s kitchen, the menu offers up a selection of exceedingly tasty food, including classic burgers and wings, a twist on Mediterranean dishes and plenty of innovative vegan and vegetarian options. The Sunday Roasts are pretty special too! Alongside this, there’s a thoughtful selection of cocktails and a wide array of craft beer on offer, all served up beneath the venue’s famous giant disco ball. Guests can also explore the open-air terrace, soak up the canalside views and take advantage of 2-4-1 burgers on Thursdays and 2-4-1 cocktails every Friday until 10pm.
