“Absolutely vile” MAGGOTS found in Morrisons bag of Pistachios

Morrisons is under fire this week after someone claimed to have found maggots in his bag of Morrisons own brand Pistachios on Twitter, and not for the first time.

“Second time I’ve had this type of issue with Morrisons food and second time they’ve done f all about it”, Twitter user @DannyDBPR wrote calling out the supermarket.

“Bought two days ago from Morrisons Connah’s Quay. Absolutely vile.”

One person responded, “As a vegan I would be fuming about this if I received one of these maggot “treats”!!”

Danny Browne, Director of HARO Links told Essential Living “I was about half way through the packet when I noticed the maggot nestled inside the shell. I contacted Morrisons on Twitter who didn’t message straight away. They asked for all sorts of details like batch number and a receipt. I don’t tend to keep receipts for groceries but I do have the transaction on my bank statement, and managed to get the packet out of the bin to show them the next day.

“So far, not very helpful. I’ll certainly be more cautious about buying food from Morrisons again”

A recent analysis of hygiene ratings was carried out by Essential Living, using data from the Food Standards Agency (FSA), which found Morrisons to have had 16 recalls since 2018 and 30 cases of food poisoning. However in the ranking of six UK supermarkets, Morrisons placed fifth for hygiene, with Tesco coming on top for the least hygienic.
