South West London is the most wellness savvy region in London
Wecasa – the online mobile wellness, beauty and home care services booking platform – is on a mission to bring awareness of how self-care and me-time can bring calm, happiness and help with mental health. Having launched into the UK market in April 2021, focusing on London first, Wecasa knows how difficult the last few years have been and understands that self-care is more important than ever to assist with the mental load many are experiencing.
In just a year the search for spas and beauty services has risen by 100% according to Google Trends and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down. London, as a city, is coming back to it’s former bustling glory following the pandemic and its people love treating themselves to beauty, massages, wellness or cleaning services to help with their busy lives.
South West London is the most wellness savvy region in London
Wecasa can reveal, from own data*, that South West London is the most self-care and wellness savvy region of London with 15.1% of all bookings being made here with East London (13.9%) and South East London (12.9%) following closely behind.
West Central (0.8%) and East Central (1.5%) areas have made the least bookings in the past year, most likely due to these areas being less residential and more commercial. Right, in the middle comes North London (8.7%) and North West London (7.3%).
The most popular bookings that “spark joy”
From Wecasa’s data, hair appointments including cuts, blow dries, dye and hair treatments, as well as cleaning services appear the most popular across all regions. East London books more messages than the other regions (3.4%) compared to South East London (2.5%), whilst bookings for beauty continue to rise in all boroughs.
Wecasa works with freelance service professionals to provide professional, convenient offerings to their local customer base. The company currently has 600 skilled professionals on their books and are planning to increase this by 1000 in the coming year to help them expand further into the UK.
The passion among Wecasa’s professionals is clear to see and hear, Nikolay Voronkov, Wecasa professional hairdresser and comedy club owner said: “In comedy you get a rush when you can connect with the audience & make them laugh, the same could be said when cutting hair. Making someone look amazing simply by cutting their hair gives me a great sense of accomplishment as well as pride.”
Fola George, Wecasa professional cleaner said: “The demand for cleaning has increased significantly since the end of restrictions and the fact that my loyal customers can continue to book me through Wecasa whilst I continue to gather more customers through the app is a massive plus, which helps me to maintain my lifestyle and make work, work around my life.”
Self-care continues to take priority
The pandemic has seen a huge shift in the way people live their lives and the lifestyle choices they now make. The past several years has seen a boom in delivery and at-home services catering to the ‘right here, right now’ trend; the need for on-demand services is now more popular and growing faster than ever.
With many customers accustomed to ordering anything they need online, the at-home mobile wellness and beauty treats are no different. In the UK this trend has seen a huge increase and the search for “self-care routines” has increased by 250% since the first lockdown.
Being able to book wellness services in the home makes logistics easier especially if you have children so it fits into your schedule and Wecasa also works with many less able people who now have the opportunity to receive treatments at home and enjoy pampering.
