GOURMET KEBAB CHAIN GERMAN DONER KEBAB (GDK) OPEN DOORS TO 100TH UK RESTAURANT
Tomorrow, premium kebab chain German Doner Kebab (GDK) will reach an exciting milestone with the opening of their 100th UK site in London.
Famous for pioneering gourmet kebabs in the UK and worldwide, GDKare extremely proud to be launching their 100th UK restaurant, situated in the heart of Covent Garden on St Martin’s Lane, right in the hustle and bustle of the capital.
The chain prides itself on crafting ‘expectation-defying kebabs’, elevating what is one of Britain’s most-loved late night takeaways to a new level of quality, freshness, and variety, all wrapped into a superior dining experience. An uncompromising focus on quality means GDK uses only premium and lean cuts of meat, fresh locally sourced vegetables, unique signature sauces made daily in each restaurant, and hand-made Turkish-style bread with its crisply toasted waffle pattern. The teams additionally prepare all of their food in front of customers by using open kitchens in all of their restaurants allowing customers to see their food being made before them.
Britons across the country have fully embraced GDK’s concept, with popular demand behind the 39 UK restaurant openings in 2021, and the 78 launches planned for 2022.
Imran Sayeed, Group CEO of GDK International, comments: “We are a brand that listens to the needs of our customers and have been responding to huge demand for game-changing kebabs across the UK. To be launching our 100th restaurant here is a huge milestone for us at GDK, and we feel incredibly privileged to not only have pioneered premium kebabs in this country, but also to have created so many local jobs along the way. We have been and always will be an integral part of the community and local culture.”
Over the last few years, GDK has cemented itself as a culturally forward-thinking brand, specifically making an impression on the country’s music scene through close and sincere collaborations with celebrity fans such as Tion Wayne, Big Zuu and D-block Europe. This follows a strategic three-year partnership with Wireless Festival, one of the country’s most loved music events, and more recently a collaboration with Strawberries and Creem festival, to be headlined by US star Lil Wayne, in their mission to completely reinvent the kebab experience across the globe.
“We are now looking forward to forging ahead with our exponential growth strategy and developing GDK as the fast-casual brand of the future”, adds Sayeed. “And though we continue to see a massive growth potential for GDK in the UK for years to come, we’re continuously fielding franchise enquiries from all corners of the world, wanting to join this juggernaut. We already have a foothold in the USA and Canada and a clear plan to grow to 500 restaurants there in the coming years, and are just about to launch into new European markets. Watch this space.”
