Today, Wednesday 25 May at 4pm, a surprise performance from Tina – The Tina Turner Musical took place inCovent Garden to launch ‘Sing it from the Rooftops’, a teaser campaign for West End LIVE, announcing the return of Europe’s biggest free musical theatre festival taking place on Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 June 2022.

Lead actress Aisha Jawando, who plays Tina in the smash hit musical performed the much loved Simply The Bestand a medley of hits live from the balcony rooftop of SUSHISAMBA in the heart of Covent Garden, looking out over the iconic Piazza.

The performance today in Covent Garden marked the first of the pop-up ‘Sing it from the Rooftops’ series to surprise and delight visitors to London’s West End throughout May & June, making theatre, arts and culture accessible to everyone in Westminster. Showing that London is open to people of all backgrounds, both residents and visitors, who want to experience the very best of the West End – from the city’s unparalleled culture scene to food, drink, fashion, nightlife, retail and more.

As excitement builds for West End LIVE, visitors to central London in the next couple of weeks who happen to look up might catch one of a series of surprise, pop-up performances by West End shows on iconic London rooftops, an opportunity to get a feel for things to come from one of Europe’s most spectacular outdoor theatre events. Details for the ‘Sing it from the Rooftops’ performances will be teased before each appearance on the West End LIVE and Official London Theatre social channels, and anyone lucky enough to witness one will be in with a chance of winning a West End LIVE queue jump.
