A Level Results Success at DLD College London
DLD College London is celebrating the remarkable achievements of its students today (18 August), as they secure outstanding A Level and BTEC results.
The triumphant A Level cohort, who sat public examinations for the first time as a result of the pandemic, obtained their results this morning from the multi-award-winning school. A highly-impressive 40% of grades were awarded A*-A and 70% at A*-B, an increase of 13% and 15% respectively on pre-pandemic (2019) results when students last sat invigilated exams – well above the national average.
Significantly, 14% of A Level students attained three or more A*-A grades, and 38% of students secured three or more A*-B grades. Success was seen across the subject board; Classical Civilisation and Further Maths students achieved 100% A*-B grades, while Sociology, Art & Design, Graphic Communications, Drama & Theatre, History, Politics, Business, Film Studies and Media Studies all achieved higher than 80% A*-B grades.
One high-performing student, Viktor Tretiakov, achieved three A*s in Further Maths, Physics and Russian to go with his A* in Maths from last year. He will now go on to study Mathematics at the University of St Andrews.
In further recognition of significant achievements, DLD College London is also commending its BTEC Diploma students, who have secured equally impressive results. A phenomenal 92% of grades were awarded at Distinction level (the equivalent to three A* to A grades at A Level), an increase of over 50% on 2019 (39%), and 100% of results were at Distinction or Merit (the equivalent to three C grades of above at A Level). For the BTEC Business Diploma, a remarkable 100% of grades were marked as a Distinction, and 42% of BTEC Diploma students secured D2 passes, the equivalent of two A* and one A grade at A Level. Oliver is going to study Marketing at Bristol, University of the West of England.
One student who excelled, Oliver Lyndon-Stanford, achieved all starred Distinctions – equivalent to three A* grades at A Level – in BTEC Business.
Commenting on this year’s results, DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif said: “We are immensely proud of our dedicated and diligent A Level and BTEC students. Their excellent results are a true testimony to their enthusiasm to learn and determination to succeed during their time with us, alongside the first-class teaching, pastoral care and support they have received from our staff members.
“At DLD College London, we aim to stretch and challenge our students, motivating them and raising their own expectations of themselves, building confidence and enabling them to access a range of degree courses at top universities in the UK and around the globe. As we strive to develop the next generation of leaders to take their place in a challenging and diverse world, we wish our departing students every success and look forward to hearing about their future endeavours as they continue to achieve their goals and aspirations.”
Additionally, the school is marking the success of its BTEC Certificate students, with the programme securing a 100% pass rate, including 20% of grades awarded at Distinction star (D*) and 50% of grades at Distinction or above.
