New study discovers London is the least affordable city in Europe for monthly transport passes
A new study has discovered the top 10 least affordable cities in Europe for monthly transport for commuters who might be heading back to the office, with London taking the top spot.
The report conducted by comparison website, NerdWallet, analysed the top 30 most populated European cities and ranked them based on which have the most and least affordable monthly transport costs, with London being named the most expensive.
Many businesses have introduced a hybrid-working model which sees many workers spending a couple of days a week in the office and with the rising cost of living, transport costs are at the forefront of people’s minds when it comes to choosing where to live and work.
London ranked as the least affordable city in Europe for public transport passes, with an average cost of £160 per month.
The second most expensive city is Dublin, with an average monthly public transport pass cost of £101.87, followed by Amsterdam in third place with an average cost of £84.87.
