The Metropolitan Police Service is today (27 September) announcing a £20,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the identification and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of 28-year-old Jonathon McPhillips in Islington in February 2017.

The reward comes as Jonathon’s mother Michelle, and the mother of his two young daughters, Kennedy, reflect about how his death has affected the lives of his children.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) on Saturday, 25 February 2017 at around 00:40hrs, to reports of a stabbing on Upper Street, N1.

Jonathon McPhillips, a 28-year-old father of two, was found injured and taken to an east London hospital where he died on Wednesday, 1 March 2017.

A post-mortem examination later gave cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.

A 17-year-old friend of Jonathon’s was also injured in the incident; he was also taken to hospital and was later discharged.
