Ling Ling at The Gun (Hackney)

A landmark pub dating back to 1860, this East London institution has embedded itself in the neighbourhood through a lively offering of cocktails, craft beers and DJs. Notably, the pub kitchen hosts chef Jenny Phung of Ling Lings, who offers an extremely popular Asian-inflected roast dinner on Sundays that draws from her British-born Chinese background. Expect perfect centrepieces like five-spiced roast pork belly, miso-glazed aubergine, or beef short rib flanked by traditional trimmings and condiments like miso gravy and nori mustard. Don’t miss the green tea and white chocolate tiramisu for dessert, either.
