SO Resi Launches Affordable Apartments in Bracknell
According to research carried out by 331 local authorities into areas that performed well in previous recessions, Bracknell in Berkshire has been highlighted as an ‘ultra-resilient property hotspot’.[1][1] The town will see its affordable housing stock boosted this autumn with the launch of SO Resi Bracknell, with the site providing a range of one and two-bedroom apartments starting from £61,875.
Located just a two-minute walk away from Bracknell Train Station, SO Resi Bracknell is ideally located for those returning to their city offices, with London Waterloo under an hour’s commute away. For those embarking on travel further afield, Heathrow is just a 30-minute drive connecting residents to cities internationally.
Bracknell itself is seeing investment of almost a billion pounds into its local community, supporting leisure and education ventures for the residents including The Lexicon shopping and leisure centre and a £30m upgrade of Princess Square.[2][2] The area is also home to the much-loved South Hill Park, an intimate theatre which plays host to touring professional theatre productions and comedians, a cinema, dance studio, art gallery and a cabaret bar.
Kush Rawal, Director of Residential Investment at SO Resi, comments: “More than ever, where you decide to invest your money in property is a key decision given the current economic climate. Bracknell has long proved itself a resilient area to external forces in the property market, with our apartments offering an accessible and affordable route into the area.
“We are seeing time and time again that prospective buyers are fed up of renting but feel priced out of these commuter hotspots. SO Resi Bracknell gives people that opportunity to invest in their ideal location and start their homeownership journey without the stress of saving up for an extortionate deposit which, for many people, is currently unattainable.”
The apartments will be available through shared ownership, meaning that buyers are able to purchase a minimum share of 25%, with just a five per cent deposit required. Buyers will then have the option to gradually increase their share in the future through a process known as staircasing.
All apartments at SO Resi Bracknell have a private balcony or terrace but if residents want to stretch their legs further, Swinley Forest, which covers over 2,600 acres, is only a 16-minute cycle ride away and offers lots of diverse activities including horse riding and mountain bike trails for residents to enjoy.
Launching in early September, SO Resi Bracknell is a collection of one and two-bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £61,875 for a 25% share in a one-bedroom apartment [full market value: £247,500].
