OPPO and Royal College of Art Empower Career Beginners Through Futureproof Campaign

OPPO and the Royal College of Art (RCA) are working together once more, this time to launch Futureproof, a campaign aimed at students who are taking their first steps on their career, by providing them with free access to a professional portrait taken with the OPPO Reno8 Series.

The Reno Series has established itself as one of the best smartphone series for portraits, able to take professional-level headshots that can be used in a career profile. OPPO believes that a good portrait photo can capture a persons essence and help their personality shine, whilst enabling them to boost their professional profile as they begin their career.

With this in mind, OPPO and RCA are offering RCA students the opportunity to get their photo taken for free by a professional photographer using the OPPO Reno8. The event will take place 8th-10th November at Royal College of Art’s new Rausing Research & Innovation Building, with students from across the university set to have their headshot captured by professional photographers from across the fashion, lifestyle and entertainment industries.

Eliza Li, CMO of OPPO Europe said: “In OPPO, we often ask ourselves: as our tech products are becoming increasingly powerful, what can be our practical contribution to the society? The decision to do the Futureproof campaign came from a meeting when we learned it usually costs students 200 Euros to take a professional portrait, and that’s where OPPO can contribute. We are aslo proud to collaborate with Royal College of Art as our like-minded partner to celebrate and support the freedom of self-expression through our technology and innovation.”

OPPO is determined to support our next, future generation of talent as part of the company’s long-term contribution back to markets. There will be internship and apprenticeship programmes providing great exposure and learning opportunities for those entering the smartphone industry.

Alon Meron, Design Products, Royal College of Art, said: “The Royal College of Art is proud of its ongoing partnership with OPPO, which now spans four years. We share the same optimism and belief that technology is key to a better world. This latest project will bring more students and programs into the collaboration; paving new paths to explore technology, art and design in our quest for securing a sustainable future for us as individuals and as a collective. Focusing on photography is an exciting step into the interdisciplinary space beyond the discourse of design; asserting the role of all creative arts as catalysts and agents at the forefront of action.”
