Clapham firm Cleanology acquires North West cleaning contractors TC Bibby

Award-winning UK commercial cleaning firm Cleanology has continued its expansion programme with the acquisition of one of the largest cleaning contractors in North-West England, TC Bibby & Sons.

Based in Wigan, TC Bibby & Sons launched in 1931 with Managing Director, Geoff Bibby, the third generation of Bibbys to steer the company. Geoff Bibby, along with all existing staff members, will remain with the company.

The deal means Cleanology, headquartered in Clapham, South West London, now employs over 1,200 people across the UK with revenues having doubled over the past year to over £25m.

Cleanology’s coverage in the North-West now includes Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn, Bolton, Warrington and North Wales, with over 400 employees in the region alone.

Dominic Ponniah, CEO of Cleanology, described the deal as a meeting of minds, saying: “We are incredibly excited to be partnering with a long-established and reputable family business like TC Bibby & Sons, which shares our values and places its customers and staff at the centre of everything it does.”

Ponniah continued, “The North-West is our fast-growing region in the UK and we are excited to be investing in the region. We believe the potential is massive to expand our chemical-free and ethical cleaning services to local businesses over the next few years.”

Geoff Bibby said: “Joining Cleanology means our clients will continue to receive all the benefits of a locally-managed customer-centric business, but with the added benefits of additional support services, national coverage and new innovations in technology and sustainability.”

All contact details remain the same and the newly acquired business will continue to operate from the office in York Street as normal. Cleanology also has an office in Brown Street in central Manchester.

The recent acquisition is the latest move in a rapid expansion for Cleanology, which has seen the firm secure new business across the UK, including a contract to clean three of Mercedes-Benz’s showrooms in the North-West earlier this year.
