CROCODILE ENJOYS AN EGG-STRA SPECIAL EASTER TREAT AHEAD OF THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND
SEA LIFE London Aquarium’s toothiest resident, Forest the Dwarf Crocodile has been spotted enjoying an egg-shaped treat as the team prepares to welcome families to the attraction for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Aquarists at the famous South Bank attraction whipped up the unique treats in the shape of eggs filled with a jelly mix of the crocodile’s favourite fish to ensure he didn’t miss out on the Springtime fun. The eggs were delivered by SEA LIFE London Aquarium’s team of expert Aquarists as part of the croc’s enrichment program to mimic natural foraging practices, usually carried out in or near water, in a fun and festive way.
The Dwarf Crocodile species originate in Western Africa and have been around for over 250 million years. The species live on a diet of small animals, fish, and birds, which is replicated in the treats enjoyed by Forest at the attraction.
Catherine Pritchard, General Manager at SEA LIFE London Aquarium, said: “With Easter only a matter of days away, we wanted to help our creatures enjoy some of the best bits of the season, so we decided to recreate everyone’s favourite Easter treat in a unique SEA LIFE London Aquarium way!
“Fishy-flavoured eggs might not be everyone’s idea of a delicious delicacy, but our Dwarf Crocodile, Forest, is thoroughly enjoying his treats and we’re egg-cited to welcome families over the Easter holidays to visit him in his home in Rainforest Adventure.”
Families visiting SEA LIFE London Aquarium over the Easter break are in for their own treat as the attraction celebrates all things sharks. The two week-long event will give guests the opportunity to go below the surface and discover the ocean’s most misunderstood creature by learning about the wide variety of sharks on display at SEA LIFE London Aquarium including the small catshark, the two-metre-long Sand Tiger Sharks, and Betty the Bowmouth Guitarfish.
SEA LIFE London Aquarium, situated on the South Bank, is open seven days a week. For further details on the latest opening times, feeding times, prices and more, please visit www.visitsealife.com/london
