CitySprint names Make-a-Wish UK as key 2023 charity partner

CitySprint — the UK’s largest same day distribution company — has named the Make-a-Wish UK Foundation as their key charity partner for 2023.

Make-A-Wish was set up to give children with critical and life-limiting conditions the chance to choose a wish that’s unique to them. The charity then comes together with the child’s family, volunteers and supporting organisations to make that wish come true.

The announcement was made at CitySprint’s Operations and Sales conferences earlier this month, during which they held an auction and raffle to kick-start the fundraising – with a total of £6,300 raised by colleagues on the night.

Prizes up for grabs as part of the auction included a gold family ticket to a ‘The Hundred’ cricket match, four hospitality tickets to a Tottenham Hotspur game next season and a kit of Saracans rugby gear, including a shirt signed by Alex Goode. Meanwhile, the raffle prizes included an additional day’s annual leave, a pair of Gucci glasses, a cycling jersey and a food tasting experience.

Over the course of the rest of the year, CitySprint colleagues across the UK will be supporting Make-A-Wish UK through local and national fundraising initiatives, getting involved with making wishes come true and raising awareness of the charity amongst the business and its clients.

Speaking about the partnership, Mark Footman, Chief Operating Officer at CitySprint said: “Supporting and giving back to our local communities is incredibly important to us at CitySprint. We are honoured to be partnering with the Make-a-Wish UK Foundation and supporting them in their mission to bring happiness and magical memories to life for children with critical illnesses, by making their wishes come true in the year ahead.”

In support of their CSR strategy and as part of their Colleague Volunteer Programme, CitySprint employees that donate a day of their time to volunteering with or fundraising for Make-a-Wish or another local charity, will receive an extra day of annual leave.
