GLAZIERS HALL UNVEILS COMMEMORATIVE PORTRAIT OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN - London TV

GLAZIERS HALL UNVEILS COMMEMORATIVE PORTRAIT OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN

Following the Coronation of His Majesty The King earlier this year, Glaziers Hall, the only Livery building on the Southbank in London, has unveiled a commemorative portrait of Her Majesty The Queen, painted by a member of the team.

The artwork is an oil painting on canvas framed on wood and will be proudly displayed at the entrance of the venue. It was commissioned by the Livery building and painted by talented resident artist and event manager, Pierre Verluca.

A second-generation artist, Pierre grew up in an apartment with a studio in Paris before he relocated to England in 2010. He was professionally trained by masters, Philippe Lejeune and Robert Verluca, and completed two years of art school and an MA.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Pierre became a commissioned artist and put his passion for painting into practice, selling his artworks to clients in the UK and throughout Europe.

Pierre comments: “It was a real privilege to be asked to paint a picture of Her Majesty The Queen to be displayed at Glaziers Hall. Painting is my passion and I like to bring colour and texture into my work.

“I wanted to have the White Cliffs of Dover in the background of the piece, and to show the strength of character of the Queen in the final artwork. It was important for me to capture the emotion of the piece using the purple, blue and grey colour palette that I have chosen.

“It took me more than four months to complete, and I hope that visitors to the venue will enjoy the piece for many years to come.”

Managing Director of Glaziers Hall, Will Simmonds, comments: “We have some very talented individuals at Glaziers Hall, and were aware of Pierre’s passion for art.

“Despite managing events for our customers during the day, we wanted to commission Pierre to showcase his artistic skills and to produce a portrait that would take pride of place at the venue.

“We are very pleased with the final piece and know that our guests will take great pleasure from the painting and importantly the story behind it.”

Glaziers Hall has seven unique spaces available to hire including the Great Hall, River View, Thames Balcony, Bridge Suite, Library, Court Suite and The London Bridge Arches.
