Building a brilliant future: Nationwide Platforms hosts East London event for aspiring women
Leading UK access provider Nationwide Platforms will be hosting a Women in Construction Event at its London East depot in West Thurrock, Essex on Thursday 27th July between 5pm and 7pm. This event is part of a series of events taking place across the UK to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace while encouraging more women to enter the construction industry.
The event will showcase Nationwide Platforms’ extensive range of career opportunities to women of all ages and backgrounds. Attendees will be given an in-depth presentation detailing Nationwide Platforms’ ethos and vision, followed by an informative and entertaining tour of the depot and its state-of-the-art facilities.
For those more intrepid adventurers, attendees have a chance to ascend one of Nationwide Platforms’ cherry pickers and get a taste of working-at-height while being treated to a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
Ever at the forefront of digital innovations, Nationwide Platforms will also be showcasing its extensive VR technologies, which are able to simulate working-at-height in various machines for in-depth, rapid training. Attendees will have a chance to experience these exciting systems first-hand, getting a sense of the company’s meticulous safety protocols and what work on-site is like, all while getting to grips with the company’s innovative technology.
Those attending the event will be treated to a range of drinks and refreshments while getting a chance to ask on-hand Nationwide Platforms employees everything about working for the company and available opportunities.
Charlie Stanley, PAD HR Director of Nationwide Platforms, said, “At Nationwide Platforms we’re dedicated to increasing the number of women in the construction and powered access industries, as evidenced by our various other initiatives such as the recently introduced enhanced maternity leave offering.
“These events are perfect for showcasing to aspiring recruits the benefits of working for Nationwide Platforms and encouraging them to bring their vast and varied skillsets to the construction industry.”
The London East event follows previous events held at Birmingham, Glasgow, Durham and Bristol respectively. All of these saw a brilliant turnout, especially among school and college leavers interested in apprenticeships and various career paths in both Engineering and Health & Safety.
