London Fashion Academy headlines at London Fashion Week Charity Event presented by THIS IS ICON
JCA | London Fashion Academy hosted its second London Fashion Week show in partnership with THIS IS ICON. The show was the amalgamation of the highlights of former designers’ latest collections, a glimpse of the MA Designer Entrepreneurs and the debut of the DBE Students.
Stephen Smith, Founder and CEO of the JCA comments: “Returning to London Fashion Week for our second show since opening the JCA in 2021, has been an incredible experience. We have extended the show to include three fantastic graduates from last year, who are making waves in the fashion industry, along with our current, DBE AND MA cohorts. Partnering with THIS IS ICON has been a great opportunity for us to support a cause that we are really passionate about. We believe that this show will give the emerging designers a platform to display their creativity. At JCA we strive to create fashion entrepreneurs who will flourish within the industry.”
Taking place at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, the event commenced at 9pm and led to a Fashion Charity Gala. Former graduate Annabelle Barton’s brand Size A opened the segment, presenting her latest collection My Roaring Twenties, which includes only one size of each garment, conveying the concept of a personal fit. Melissa Kate showcased Genesis III:V, a collection inspired by the story of Eve in the Garden of Eden from the Abrahamic religions. To conclude the alumni’s segment, Noon Khouri presented her Angel’s Wear Nada collection Heavensent in collaboration with JENSJWLS.
The second segment revealed the Academy’s Fashion: Design, Branding, and Entrepreneurship (DBE) students, Cherlyn Ornika, Kinar Ornika, Maisy Binns, Niamh Nowlan, Valeria Peeva and Vesela Valeva.
For the final segment, the current MA Designer-Entrepreneurs, Aaiyma Masoud, Icela Berra- Rocio Sanchez, Mariam Saeed, Olivia Black, Polly McKevitt and Saleha Hussain previewed one look of their upcoming collection, giving the audience a glimpse of what they will present during their full reveal in October, during the internationally acclaimed London Frieze Week, at the JCA’s Mayfair campus.
