LOOKING FOR SOMETHING SPECTACULAR THIS OCTOBER HALF-TERM? SURROUND YOURSELF AT FRAMELESS

This autumn half-term, families looking for imaginative and inspiring ways to keep children entertained should look no further than Maliha Abidi’s debut show at Frameless, the UK’s largest immersive art experience.

Alongside the four main galleries, visitors will be able to get up close and personal with a new show from renowned artist, author and speaker Maliha Abidi. Celebrated for her work dedicated to women’s rights and mental health, children and parents will be able to immerse themselves in the vibrancy and emotion of her first solo show ‘Shifting Shadows: A New Horizon’.

Projected floor to ceiling across three screens in Frameless’ Fifth Gallery, ‘Blank Canvas’, the boundary-breaking journey is designed to inspire the next generation to change the world, and expand minds young and old, by inviting them to contemplate a world where women have safe access to public spaces wherever they live.
Through digital brush strokes, Abidi reveals the enigma of prevailing norms for women in public realms, centered on realities observed from across Pakistan, South Asia and beyond. Using bright and bold colours to encourage educational conversation, a transformation emerges within the artwork. Abidi paints an alternate reality where femininity weaves harmoniously into the outdoors, offering and deeply imagining a hopeful tomorrow where every girl can feel safe. Until then, we imagine.
Families will also be able to travel through the four permanent multi-sensory galleries, showcasing 42 masterpieces from iconic artists from Van Gogh to Dalí, each expertly reimagined through cutting-edge digital technology to break free from the confines of a frame.
Located in a 30,000 square-feet venue in the heart of Marble Arch, Frameless is the UK’s first large-scale digital immersive art experience. An award-winning and highly Instagram-able experience, Frameless uses the very latest interactive projection technology to break the boundaries of art. From Renaissance to Modern art, visitors will discover unique interpretations of masterpieces from artists including Canaletto, Cézanne, Dalí, Kandinsky, Klimt, Monet, Rembrandt and Van Gogh.

Each month Frameless offers up a residency to the best emerging talent from the diverse and vibrant digital art community which visitors can discover in ‘Blank Canvas’. Access to the residency is included in all standard tickets when the Blank Canvas space is open. ‘Shifting Shadows: A New Horizon’ will be shown at Frameless until 23rd November.
