Range of free wellness activities on offer at the IFS Cloud Cable Car for all to enjoy this January

Transport for London (TfL) is encouraging Londoners to overcome their January blues with a host of free health and wellbeing activities at the IFS Cloud Cable Car in North Greenwich.

TfL’s “Purple Week*” sees free wellness activities from Monday 15 January to help encourage Londoners to improve their health and wellbeing and as part of this activity, two Cable Car cabins have been rebranded as “Chatty Cabins” to encourage visitors to meet new people and help get London talking. Additionally, TfL has partnered with Brew and Paint, The Zen Project, The Line and The Gym Group to offer free wellbeing classes throughout the week covering guided walks round the area, art workshops and exercise classes.

All of TfL’s wellbeing sessions during “Purple Week” are free and on 15,17,24 and 26 January, visitors can also a book a free “Chatty Cabin” session on the IFS Cloud Cable Car with TfL’s Corporate Archives team who will help people record a piece of their own oral history.

The events include:

“Chatty Cabins” Recordings of people’s history with TfL’s Corporate Archives team

On 15, 17, 24 and 26 January people can enjoy a free round-trip on one of the “Chatty Cabins” with TfL’s Corporate Archives team who will show people a piece of memorabilia from the history of transport in London to help spark conversations. People will be offered the chance to record their own piece of history with the team and can also enjoy a free hot drink.

Brew and Paint at IFS Cloud Cable Car
On Monday 15 January, TfL is partnering with Brew and Paint to offer a free guided painting sessions where talented instructors will provide step-by-step instructions, ensuring that even beginners can create a masterpiece to take home

The Zen Project at IFS Cloud Cable Car
On Tuesday 16 January, TfL is offering a full day of free guided Zen Sessions with The Zen Project
The sessions will focus on helping to lower stress and anxiety levels, involving a mixture of guided meditation and visualisation, breathwork and sound experiences
The sessions will be delivered from a converted American school bus at the Greenwich Peninsula terminal

The Line wellbeing walk at IFS Cloud Cable Car
On 17 January TfL and The Line, East London’s public art walk, will host a free wellbeing walk around the Greenwich Peninsula
The Line stretches along waterways and the Greenwich Meridian from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford to The O2 at North Greenwich.
This walk will cover the Greenwich section of the route, which includes six monumental sculptures by renowned artists, located along the Thames Path
The walk will end at the IFS Cloud Cable Car terminal where people are invited to take a complimentary round-trip, during which a guided meditation commissioned by The Line will be playing via the speakers
The Event will end with a complimentary hot drink

Free workout with The Gym Group
On 18 January, TfL will partner with The Gym Group to offer a free workout session at IFS Cloud Cable Car
The experienced trainer will guide people through an invigorating workout session, consisting of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Abs and Glutes workout
Afterwards people can enjoy a relaxing free ride on the Cable Car
