What’s On This Weekend in London? Celebrate Lunar New Year with Choya Cocktails at Bamboo Mat
In celebration of the Lunar New Year (10th February), Bamboo Mat, Stratford, is launching a limited range of delicious cocktails in partnership with luxury Japanese spirits brand Choya. These new and exciting cocktails are available from 10th February until the end of March.

The following three Choya cocktails will be on offer:
Bees Knees – Choya Royal Honey, gin, orange and lemon juice.
Choya Old Fashioned – Choya Royal Honey, bourbon and Angostura Bitters
Choya Negroni – For something strong and smooth, try this twist on a classic Negroni with Choya Extra Years, Campari and Vieille Prune Louis Roque.
All the cocktails will be created using Choya – a premium Japanese fruit liqueur made from the Japanese ume fruit. The liqueur is 100% natural and vegan friendly and is a combination of umeshu liquid extracted from the ume fruit, sugar and alcohol and has a light, fruity flavour that is both sweet and tart.

Choya was founded by the Kondo family in 1914 and is now the 7th largest liqueur producer in the world.
Choya Extra Years Aged Umeshu is a premium Umeshu made with the finest grade Nanko-ume fruit, harvested in the Wakayama region of Japan. This fruit liqueur is well-balanced, sweet and slightly vicious.

Lunar New Year is a festival typically celebrated in many Asian countries, beginning with the first new moon of the lunar calendar and ending on the first full moon of the lunar calendar, 15 days later. It is traditionally a time for family reunions, hope and positivity.
Bamboo Mat has a delicious range of dishes to enjoy alongside the new cocktails, including favourites like chicken teriyaki, grilled sweet potato, tostadas, tiraditos and ceviche.
