Local suppliers on show at new housing development in Beckenham

Cala Homes (South Home Counties) has expanded its ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative to their Langley Court development in Beckenham, as part of its highly anticipated show apartment.

The one-of-a-kind ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative involves Cala partnering with independent, local retailers to source items to furnish its showhomes from businesses in the area(s) in which they are building.

Showhome of Support aims to add a personal touch to the properties style, giving local independents from Kent and Greater London a platform to showcase their products, produce and designs to residents and potential homebuyers in the local area of Beckenham.
In order to make sure the luxury show apartment at Langley Court captures the delightful scents of Kent, a variety of candles from Wick London Co and Gifts and Flavour Studio fill the living spaces throughout the apartment. These comforting scents continue into the bathroom with a luxurious and rich hand wash from Hopscotch, with the warming aroma of grapefruit, clove and bay essential oils.

A selection of local delights can be found in the kitchen, including sugarcane decaf coffee from Carnival Coffee Roasters with delicious notes of dark chocolate, apricot, and sweet mandarin and Ten Acres’ fabulous pink still rosé. The kitchen countertops also display Acacia wooden boards from The Nest Homeware Store, perfect for chopping or to act as serving platters for tasty delicacies.

For fans of unique and intricate stoneware, the Langley Court show apartment displays a range of beautiful products including a fine carved mug from Hilda Carr Pottery and a jewel green pasta bowl from Jumping Bean, inspired by the stunning artwork found in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Independent designers and artists in the local area are also featured. Local creators at Studio and Sketch kindly supplied a print for the show apartment of a watercolour illustration of Beckenham High Street to bring a personal touch to the home, whilst Sea Sure Things provided lovely handmade thank you cards.

The Langley Court show apartment was designed by Haus Interiors whom have helped design many other Cala showhomes.

Megan Wainwright, Interior Stylist at Haus, said: “In line with Cala’s ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative, we made an effort to incorporate as many locally sourced items from the area as possible during the design process.

“From locally produced unique homewares to delightfully scented candles, all of these beautiful items have been especially chosen to showcase the variety of incredible products that can be purchased in the local area.”

Perfectly place on the leafy outskirts of Kent, with easy and quick connections into Central London, Langley Court is based in an idyllic location with access to great amenities, schools, independent shops and a wide selection of bars, eateries, and cafes.

The development currently offers a variety of house types including 1- and 2- bedroom luxury apartments as well as 3- and 4- bedroom homes. With prices starting from £350,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, the apartments provide a good location and setup for first time buyers and those wishing to downsize.
